About our nominated local charities
Wild Things is an award-winning environmental education charity working in Moray, Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, providing inspiring wilderness, nature based, and outdoor learning experiences for all ages and abilities. Since 2003, Wild Things has enabled over 36,000 children, young people and adults to learn from, protect and find inspiration in their local natural environment.
“We believe that everyone – no matter their age or ability – should have the opportunity to explore, learn from, and care for the natural world.”
Luke Strachan, CEO
The Ladybird Group was established in 1985 by the late Dr Iain White and his wife, Ann. They recognised the need for a local provision to care for pre-school children who required additional support in their development, from the Lossiemouth and surrounding area. Each child has an individual programme with targets to work towards, plus input from the various visiting specialists.
At Gordonstoun School, we believe that education goes far beyond the classroom.
“Raising funds for local charities gives our pupils the opportunity to understand the importance of compassion, responsibility, and community spirit. By supporting causes close to home, our pupils see first- hand how their efforts can make a real difference to the lives of others. Working together for the benefit of our local community reminds us that we are stronger when we support one another.”
